For those of you excited to see Marvel's IRON FIST on Netflix on March 17th, but worried that once you binge the season there's nothing to hold you over, just breathe. There's some reading material being made available in March.

For a casual observer of Iron Fist, I've always been intrigued by the character. Having never picked up a comic book though, I've followed his legend more than the actual story. In March, Marvel is giving fans an opportunity to jump in on the ground floor with an exciting new series.

For many of us that will be using the Netflix series as a gateway into the character, having a new #1 issue available is a perfect way to continue the journey. Being able to binge the entire season in a weekend is fun for some viewers, but then what? You end up scouring the internet seeking any report that a second season is underway. And with THE DEFENDERS on the horizon, you may be scouring for quite some time.

I prefer the slow burn and watch them a little bit at a time. It makes for avoiding spoilers far more difficult, but with focus and training, it's not nearly as complicated as it would seem. For instance, I've never watched a single episode of Jessica Jones or Luke Cage and I still have no clue what happens in either series.

Once viewers are finished with season 1 of IRON FIST, they can rush to their local comic shop and pick up Iron Fist #1. Based on the description it doesn't really look as though it'll follow along with the Netflix series but it won't have to. As long as the characters are relatable, it should be an easy transition for most newcomers. Also available will be the complete collection of IRON FIST: THE LIVING WEAPON in trade paperback, featuring a whopping 272 pages of martial arts mayhem.
