Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis

With an AQUAMAN movie soon to hit theaters, it makes perfect sense that Warner Brothers and LEGO would want to capitalize on the interest with an Aquaman LEGO adventure. AQUAMAN: RAGE OF ATLANTIS finds the sea king (voiced by DEE BRADLEY BAKER) giving up his crown after his half-brother Orm (TREVOR DEVALL) reveals the fine print of the Atlantean constitution declaring only a full-blooded Atlantean can hold the throne. This comes on the heels of Aquaman's humiliating defeat at the hands of Lobo (FRED TATASCIORE) at a dry lake bed known as Area 52, a military installation designed for the simplification of processing alien weaponry, now gone defunct because the simplification process proved overly complicated causing the entire operation to relocate to Rebirth, New Jersey.

When it is revealed that the Red Lantern, Atrocitus (JONATHAN ADAMS), has teamed up with Ocean Master to destroy Earth, it will take the combined might of all the Justice Leage, including Batman (TROY BAKER), Wonder Woman (GREY GRIFFIN), Superman (NOLAN NORTH), Cyborg (KHARY PAYTON), and rookie Green Lantern Jessica Cruz (CRISTINA MILIZIA) to take on the menace. But when the adventure takes them to a planet with no water and a red sun, could the Justice League finally have met their match? Or will Aquaman rise to the occasion and earn the respect of his peers for being the hero we know him to be?

This LEGO adventure has a lot to offer fans of DC's pantheon of superheroes, taking advantage of the rich and varied character roster of the DCU. While the Justice League is trapped off-planet, only Jessica Cruz remains behind, battling her fears and being chided by her power ring (also voiced by GREY GRIFFIN) for her mistakes. Jessica must team up with Batgirl (ALYSON STONER) and Robin (SCOTT MENVILLE) to stave off the invasion of Atlanteans, led by Mera (SUSAN EISENBERG), who have all been mentally enslaved -- and enraged -- by the power of Atrocitus's Red Lantern energy. Lobo's space dolphin pal, Fishy, also makes an appearance, as does fan-favorite Red Lantern, Dex-Star.

This DVD/Blu-ray offering also comes in a special package that includes an exclusive LEGO minifigure of Jessica Cruz, so you can grow the ranks of your LEGO Justice League (or Green Lantern Corps).

It's a lot of fun to watch, and a more complex plotline than a lot of the previous LEGO DC Superhero line, while retaining the innocent and slapstick humor that makes the line so appealing.
