Rey Grande is the star attraction of the Hermanos Guerrero circus, a magnificent elephant beloved by audiences and performers alike. But when a drug-dealing circus employee learns that police are about to search the grounds, he panics and hides a large stash of fentanyl deep in the animals' hay.
Unfortunately, Rey Grande finds it first.
What follows is a catastrophe of epic proportions as a drug-addled elephant goes on a rampage of fiery destruction. With emergency services overwhelmed by the several ferocious animals released in the wake of Rey's escape, Gabriela and Tomas set out on a desperate mission to find the elephant before the authorities do.
Because beneath all the chaos, Rey Grande isn't a monster. He's an innocent animal caught in the consequences of human stupidity, and two people who love him are determined to bring him home.
