Riverdale 112 Anatomy of a Murder

Ask any millennial the question, "Who shot J.R.?" and you'll likely get a blank stare. But after last night, they can finally relate to that expansive generation gap, as RIVERDALE serves up the real murderer of Jason Blossom.

Last week, Riverdale law enforcement searched the trailer of F.P. Jones (SKEET ULRICH) and found the gun that killed Jason Blossom. The problem with that? The trailer had just been searched moments before by Archie (KJ APA) and Veronica (CAMILA MENDES), at the behest of Alice Cooper (MADCHEN AMICK), and the gun was not there then. Which means someone planted it. But who? And why does F.P. confess to the crime?

That's the mystery that Archie, Veronica, and Betty (LILI REINHART) have to solve, before a dejected--and now parentless--Jughead (COLE SPROUSE) leaves Riverdale for good.

Looking for reasons why F.P. might have lied, the gang take the sheriff's son, Kevin Keller (CASEY COTT), to ask Kevin's boyfriend Joaquin (ROB RACO) for more information, since Joaquin and F.P. were both members of the South Side Serpents. Joaquin is reluctant, and states his belief that F.P. did kill Jason -- but not just because F.P. admitted to it. Before he takes it on the lam, however, he passes them one more lead to follow up on -- the involvement of another South Side Serpent named Mustang (CHRISTOPHER ROSAMOND), and the location of a package F.P. wanted hidden as insurance, insurance he's now told Joaquin to ignore.

There's a problem with that as well. Mustang is dead of an overdose, and there's a bag full of cash under his bed with the initials "H.L." on it. Does the H.L. stand for Hyram Lodge -- or Hermione Lodge?

The gang finds the package near the site of the burned out vehicle -- it's Jason Blossom's varsity jacket that we've seen in prior episodes. Inside the jacket, they find a USB drive.

And on the USB drive: a video.

Of a murder.

Specifically, of Jason Blossom's murder.

You're going to want to watch this one to see who the murderer truly was.
