Welcome back to Critical Blast’s weekly look at what new comics you should check out each week.   Just a warning, I make these picks pretty much a week BEFORE I actually get to read any of these comics, so if something is a stinker, I take no blame on that.  Let's get to it!

All in all a pretty light week, but a couple of big new titles to talk about.

  • DEADMAN #1 – I have been a fan of Boston Brand for as long as I can remember.  To be honest, most writers don’t do him justice, but I am hoping Neal Adams can do some cool things here.

  • POWER PACK #63 – I was real surprised to see POWER PACK back in their own series.  Do most comic readers even know who POWER PACK is?  I always thought it was a fun idea, kids with super powers fighting aliens, so I will definitely give it a shot.

  • JETSONS #1 – Fans have been asking for this series ever since DC brought back THE FLINTSTONES.  Jimmy Palmiotti has been trying to bring this to life for a long time now.  If it’s even half as good as THE FLINTSTONES, this book will be awesome.

  • BLACK LIGHTNING: COLD DEAD HANDS #1 – Tony Isabella returns to BLACK LIGHTNING.  I always thought BLACK LIGHTNING was an underappreciated character.   He is getting his own CW show in the next few months, so hopefully this will help him get some traction with the audience.

  • ARCHIE #25 – ARCHIE has been a tricky series for me. I think on a whole, it’s been great, but too often I feel like I have to turn off my brain to ignore some of the strange plotholes that pop up. The last issue was a great example…the whole issue Betty’s father is trying to keep Archie away from seeing her, but it’s never clear why Archie couldn’t have just approached her at school.

  • Bane Conquest #7 (Of 12)
  • Batman #34
  • Batman The Devastator #1
  • Batman White Knight #2 (Of 8)
  • Dastardly And Muttley #3 (Of 6)
  • Green Arrow #34
  • Green Lanterns #34
  • Harley And Ivy Meet Betty And Veronica #2 (Of 6)
  • Justice League #32
  • Nightwing #32
  • Superman #34
  • DuckTales #2
  • G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #245
  • Paper Girls #17
  • Astonishing X-Men #5
  • Avengers #673
  • Captain America #695
  • Guardians Of The Galaxy #146
  • Old Man Logan #30
  • Spider-Man #234
  • Star Wars Darth Vader #7
