From WWE.com:

STAMFORD, Conn. — After a three-year suspension, Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame. This second chance follows Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake. These efforts led to a recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame.

Hulk Hogan also Tweeted:

Just met with the Superstars and on all levels the volume of love and support was overwhelming. I’ve been praying for this day and I finally feel like I made it back home. Only Love 4 the brother HH

Commentary: One thing that I really hate about modern society is that when someone makes a mistake, that person has to go away for a while.  Up front, I want to make it clear, I am not defending what Hulk Hogan did or said.  But at the end of the day, in a bad time in his life, in what he believed to be privacy, Hulk Hogan said some pretty messed up racist statements in an illegally obtained recording, 8 YEARS BEFORE THIS CAME TO LIGHT.  I genuinely think that judging someone purely by the worst moments in their life is just insane.  I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to be judged that way.

But, because that is the world we live in today, people demand justice even for what basically amounts here to thought crimes.  And WWE quickly denounced Hulk Hogan...arguably the most important figure in wrestling history.  Not because WWE felt it was the right thing to do, but because they were concerned about the public outrage and handringing that Hulk's actions were creating.  It has taken five years, but it appears that WWE is finally willing to let this go, and has even restored Hulk to the Hall of Fame.  Not quite sure how that works, being the Hall of Fame isn't actually a real place, but I am assuming this is just the first step in bringing Hulk Hogan back for one last run before he can retire.  Definitely not as an in ring performer, but he still deserves to be part of the WWE.

At the end of the day, Hulk Hogan is human.  And humans have many failings.  We really need to act like adults when it comes to there failings, and stop forcing people to have to go away and hide in the shadows when they may do or so something that we find distasteful.  Welcome back, Hulk!  We missed you!

CHEAP PLUG!  Ryback, JD, and me will be discussing this in more depth in this week's CONVERSATION WITH THE BIG GUY!
