Inspired by ALIEN HUNTER, a novel by best-selling author, Whitley Streiber, the new SyFy series, HUNTERS, will premiere on Monday, April 11th at 10 pm EST.

The 13-episode series will be executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead,” “The Terminator Trilogy”) and Natalie Chaidez (“12 Monkeys,” “Heroes”), who also serves as showrunner, as well as Emile Levisetti (“Royal Pains”).

Having produced smashing successes like THE WALKING DEAD and a cult hit with HEROES, Hurd and Chaidez will no doubt bring an excellent adaptation to the small screen that should make fans of the novel proud.

It may even draw in some of THE WALKING DEAD crowd looking to follow Hurd onto a new project.

Show synopsis from the press release:

HUNTERS follows Baltimore FBI agent Flynn Carroll (Nathan Phillips, “Wolf Creek”) whose wife suddenly and mysteriously goes missing.   His search for her leads him to a highly-classified government organization – the Exo-Terrorism Unit (ETU) – who track and fight alien terrorists.  Britne Oldford (“American Horror Story”) plays Regan, a valuable ETU operative keeping secrets of her own. The series also stars Julian McMahon (“Nip/Tuck”) as the dangerously unhinged terrorist, McCarthy.

What's unique about HUNTERS will be its Spotify integration.

On air, Spotify will play a central role in the series’ plotline. In a gritty underground world, the “Hunters” – ruthless, otherworldly terrorists at the center of the series’ story – regularly communicate via coded messages within Spotify playlists. The series' unique story-telling will feature songs by both classic and current artists such as Savages and The Kinks, as well as cover tracks available exclusively on Spotify.  Online, the partnership will include a season-long digital experience called “Crack the Code,” where fans can enter a sweepstakes by deciphering a secret coded phrase hidden within special playlists on Spotify (curated with tracks featured in HUNTERS).

To kick things off, on March 17th at SXSW SyFy will offer an innovative experience at The Spotify House. Guests will enter a custom-built environment where, employing a branded tablet equipped with headphones and an augmented reality app, they can immerse themselves in the show and experience what life as a Hunter is like. This integration with Spotify will allow SyFy to have viewers feel as though they are a part of the show.

HUNTERS won't be a show to watch, it'll be something to experience.
