A villain team-up, a shift in the status quo and a cliffhanger ending highlight the fun and free-spirited latest episode of SUPERGIRL!

The episode has aired and the results are in! CBS experienced an uptick in ratings for the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode. And while it wasn't their highest rated episode, it certainly provided a boost in ratings that have leveled off over the last several weeks. Leaping +31% in adults 18-49 to a seven-week high and increasing +21% in viewers proves that the audience at home were eagerly awaiting this moment. According to Nielson SUPERGIRL was Monday’s highest-rated scripted series in adults 18-49.

There was so much chemistry between Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin you would think they were improvising their way through the script. They played off of each other with such ease, you could see the level of comfort they had. It almost felt like the showrunners told them the foundation of a scene and then, 'just have fun with it'.

Story-wise, the episode fit well within the context of the current on-going storyline, as Kara struggles to regain the support of National City. If there was a knock against the episode, it would be James Olsen sulking everytime he was in a scene with Kara and Barry. But can you blame him? Supergirl made a new best friend in Flash and they were side-by-side the whole time. The villain team-up of Livewire and Silver Banshee was at first, formidable. But the way they were stopped in the end was a nice surprise.

I won't spoil it, but I will say that a different kind of hero stepped up to lend Supergirl a hand.

Overall, it was easily the best episode of the season and one that I could watch over and over again. If you missed it, I highly recommend watching. It's must see TV for any fan of Supergirl, The Flash or the genre in general.
