With VOLTRON LEGENDARY DEFENDER seasons 1 and 2 currently available on Netflix, season 3 arrives on August 4th and we have a trailer!

In addition to that news, it was announced that fans will only need to wait TWO MONTHS before watching season 4! Which is expected to drop on Netflix in October! That being said, it appears that Dreamworks Animation has opted for shorter seasons in order to accomodate the increased frequency.

Because many people bing watch a season in just a few days, splitting up the seasons may actually benefit Dreamworks. It should extend the life of social interactions so it doesn't die out after the first month. Once fans have finished watching season 3, they can begin their excitement for season 4.

The final battle at the end of season 2 has rocked the paladins to the core. Not knowing where Shiro disappeared to leaves them without a leader. Even though Shiro told Keith he should assume leadership if anything happened, Keith remained unsure of his ability to do so.

Will the other Paladins be as accepting? Lance's constant competition with Keith could cause some envy and dissention among the ranks. All while a new threat looms in the form of the dangerous Prince Lotor. Lotor will look to test the Paladins loyalty to one-another and with cat-and-mouse games that could tear the team apart.

Princess Alura tells the Paladins that it's time to consider finding a new pilot for the Black Lion. While ominous music plays, we see glimpses of the perils that lie ahead. The trailer ends with the Black Lion mysteriously powering up.

Could this finally be Keith's ascension, coupled with acceptance by the Black Lion?

Synopsis - The success of Zarkon's defeat comes at a price: Shiro has vanished. With the ascension of the mysterious Prince Lotor and without a pilot for the black lion, the team must somehow find the strength to keep fighting. But how can they defend the universe without Voltron?
