I saw this reported earlier in the week, and wanted to provide some perspective and commentary on it.

Marvel Comics has announced plans to overship all of its January 2017 titles by 10% for free to retailers. This will mean for every ten copies of a January Marvel book bought by retailers, they'll receive an additional copy; and furthermore, Marvel will be rounding up the percentages, meaning if less than ten copies of a book is ordered, a free copy will still be send along with the paid titles.

That gives retailers extra copies of books to for a profit of full cover price per issue (minus the shipping charges from the distributor). So will Marvel's sales be 10% higher in Diamond Comics Distributors' sales figures for January 2017?

WWE announced their latest crossover cartoon with The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-Wrestlemania, available on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 on Digital HD and on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 on DVD.

From the trailer, it looks like Big Show ends up cryogenically frozen, and when he wakes up 100 years in the future, he decides to take over the world with an army of robot wrestlers at his command; another Big Show heel turn.  So the Jetsons head back to 2016 to bring superstars to stop him, including Alicia Fox, Sheamus, Seth Rollins, the Usos, and Roman Reigns.

The term "Women in Refrigerators" was coined by comic book writer Gail Simone in reference to a Ron Marz written issue of Green Lantern where Kyle Raynor found his girlfriend dead and literally stuffed into his refrigerator.

Often referenced when a female character dies in order to motivate the male protagonist, 'fridging' has become a commonly used expression.

Yesterday, USA Today released a new image from the upcoming Justice League movie, directed by Zack Snyder. The image depicts the league exiting the "Flying Fox", a ship used to transport the league from one place to another. What's IN the picture isn't very newsworthy, as we see the team we expect exiting a ship.

Back in November, I had posted the first teaser trailer for Cars 3, which seemed to show Lightning McQueen getting smashed up pretty good in a racing accident.

Ahead of its day before press at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, The CW handed out early renewals to seven veteran series.

Returning for the 2017-18 broadcast season are all four DC Comics shows — The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow — as well as dramedies Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin, alongside its longest-running original, Supernatural.

Missing from the list are The 100, iZombie and The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, all of which have yet to debut their current seasons. (Reign will end with its upcoming fourth season and The Vampire Diaries also will sign off later this year.)

They continue they're hunt for the other books of evil that were scattered from their place of safe keeping when Merlock's tower exploded, and as they find them they get even more powerful.

Fortunately the NEXO Knights are better trained than they were in their first season, and their characters -- while still unique to each of them -- are less two-dimensional than they were when we first met them. They're going to need to employ all their monster fighting training and new downloaded abilities from Merlock 2.0 if they're going to save the day!

When season one ended, our Paladin's were scattered throughout the galaxy, separated during their heroic escape from Zarkon's clutches. It was discovered that Zarkon was the original owner of the Black Lion and his connection with it still runs deep. So deep, in fact, that this season he appears hellbent on tracking down Voltron and reclaiming what was once his.

Rob Liefeld, whose disruptive Deadpool creation was the blockbuster movie surprise of 2016, is at the center of the first big film rights deal of 2017. Graham King and Fundamental Films have partnered to build movies from the comic book characters Liefeld created in what is known as Extreme Universe. King has partnered with Weed Road’s Akiva Goldsman, and they will produce the movies with Liefeld and Energy Entertainment’s Brooklyn Weaver. This rights deal is seven figures, I hear.

The year 2016 is officially behind us. And while many of us regard that sentiment with a wipe of the forehead and a heartfelt, "Phew!" there were also a lot of good things to come out of the year. And this is where we recognize those things.

The boys have decided to start up a new on and off series called Blind Let's Play inspired by the Game Grumps. The person who is playing is blindfolded while the other person who is watching is that persons eyes and has to direct the person who is blindfolded to the end of the level.
